Lunch & Snack Information
Lunch
Holy Trinity Catholic School serves a hot lunch that meets the guidelines set forth as part of the National School Lunch Program (NSLP). Lunches are served with milk.
Allergies
It is common to have students with food allergies, both when food is ingested and some that are by exposure to a particular food item, such as peanuts. As such, we make an effort to keep our students safe by asking that parents refrain from sending food, either as snacks or for lunch, that contain peanuts. Students that have a food allergy are asked to complete a medical form, with the doctor's signature, indicating the items for substitution and appropriate medical action to be taken should the student have an allergic reaction. This form can be picked up from the school office.
Snacks
Students in Full Day Preschool through grade five have an option of bringing a healthy snack to eat during morning recess. Again, we ask parents to refrain from sending snacks containing peanuts.
Students also have the opportunity to purchase snacks from each campus's "Snack Cart" for $0.50. Snack options vary, however all snacks available to purchase are Smart Snack Approved.
Birthday Treats
As part of the Health & Wellness Policy, birthday treats must meet the USDA Smart Snack Standards. A list of Smart Snacks can be found here: Smart Snacks. A list of suggested foods, beverages, and other items for celebrations can be found in the school office.
Visitors for Lunch
Parents and/or special adult guests are welcome to join students anytime for lunch.
If the adult would like a school lunch, he/she needs to contact the school office by no later than 9:00am. Adult meals must be paid in cash at the time of service. It is against the policies of the NSLP for an adult meal to be paid for from a child’s lunch account. It is also a policy that no adult may eat the food that is served to a child.
Students/special guests are not permitted to bring food from other restaurant establishments that are in logoed packaging.
